The
Wood Thrush, Hylocichla mustelina, is one of the most common
woodland species across the eastern United States. Its varied
fluting song is more often heard than the bird is seen. This one
is sitting on its nest in Jenkins Arboretum, Devon,
Pennsylvania. I discovered the nest nearby after one of the pair
kept coming within a couple of feet of me while gathering food for its
young.
