______________________________________________

The Wood Thrush, Hylocichla mustelina, is one of the most common woodland species across the eastern United States.  Its varied fluting song is more often heard than the bird is seen.  This one is sitting on the branch of a Kousa Dogwood in Jenkins Arboretum, Devon, Pennsylvania.   The large berries of this tree are a favorite food in early fall.
