The Bald Eagle, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, is the national emblem of the US and is found widely across the US and Canada.   On the decline for many years because of pesticide use, the Bald Eagle has recovered well.   This juvenile  or second year Eagle in Vancouver, British Columbia, has just captured a crab.
