The Hermit Thrush, Catharus guttatus, is the only member of its genus to be found in North America in winter.  It changes its diet from primarily insects to a mixture of insects and fruit in winter.  This thrush is  at Welkinweir, an estate in Chester County, Pennsylvania with 197 acres of natural lands that include a 47 acre arboretum.
