The Pantanal Cat, Felis braccata, (formerly the Pampas Cat but now split) is a small wild cat that makes its home in the Pantanal.   It resembles an oversized domestic cat, reaching a length of 2 feet.   This cat was the first animal we saw on our first night tour, sleeping only a hundred yards or so from the buildings in the hotel compound.
