Mt Bachelor in the Cascade chain near Bend, Oregon, is a volcano formed between 15,000 and 11,000 years ago. It last erupted between 10,000 and 8,000 years ago. Today it is a popuar recreation area with hiking and one of the largest ski areas in the Pacific Northwest.
